I've always thought that sofas have many more uses than just being a piece of living room furniture. You can put one in your kitchen, bedroom, or even a dining room for example and it'll certainly make that place warmer, cosier and more pleasant to be (and sit!) in. It's particularly true for dining rooms in my view as they usually come with solid wood furniture and after a few hours of long family gatherings everyone tends to start squirming in their seats. While it looks amazing, hard wood isn't the most comfortable place to put your behind on – so what about a snug sofa instead?

Have a peak at the small but airy dining room below. Although not really a sofa, the soft seating and lovely loose cushions creates a cosy, homely feeling to the dining experience.

Soften up Your Dining Room with sofas

If you're lucky and have more space in your dining room, a sofa on one side of the table can still work perfectly, just like the beautiful tufted one in the picture below. Because of the sofa's arms it might not be very easy to access your seat so this is definitely something to consider but on the plus side you'll never want to get up once you get in there!

Another option is to place a larger sofa against a smaller or different shaped table to make access easier and more inviting. The three-seater sofa below works perfectly with the dark, solid dining table and similar styled chairs and adds a note of cosiness to this very bright interior.

And finally…it goes without saying that we have plenty of gorgeous sofas in our range that could work brilliantly in your dining room. My personal favourite would be the Elmley 2 seater sofa. It has relatively low arms to make the trip to your seat easier, gorgeous side cushions to lean on when eating, and the blend of contemporary and traditional design would sit beautifully with most styles of dining tables and rooms.
